What makes a recipe your own?

This question has always been my origin of apprehension when it comes to posting recipes. I mean, who hasn’t thought of your combination before? There are millions of cooks around the world, at least one of them is bound to have a recipe similar if not identical to your own.

Maybe a recipe becomes your own because it’s you who’s making it, regardless if the recipe has been done before.
