Wonderful Weekend

June 12, 2011 - Leave a Response

All I can say is, “wow.” I had such a great weekend! I had off Friday night, all day Saturday AND Sunday. ❤

Friday night was Tokyo Hibachi and The Crazies with three close friends.

Saturday was a great bike ride and a trip to Lancaster-turned-Lititz. B and I had the original plan of heading to Park City in Lancaster, but as we drove through Lititz, we saw a street fair going on! So plans changed and we hung out and walked around the city for a few hours. Some highlights:

Nutella crepe

Pina Colada from Cafe Chocolate

Zest store = heaven

HAND FEEDING DUCKS

We then went to Penn Cinema and saw The Hangover part 2 (my second time, B’s first). So funny!

Sunday = lazy morning. Wasn’t feeling well so I stayed in bed and watched Legends of the Guardians. I baked a little, then went to B’s house for a cookout. We spent some time with his family and later took a walk and watched a movie.

Now I’m here waiting until B comes over (!!) to just sit outside and chat. Love that boy. ❤

Best/Worst Day Ever

Best because I kicked a groundhog while riding my bike to the bank. Worst because said groundhog retaliated and bit me. One rabies shot and 4 stitches later, I’m sorry for what I did.

Oh. . . if only that were a true story! Haha 🙂 Happy Saturday.

What makes a recipe your own?

June 9, 2011 - Leave a Response

This question has always been my origin of apprehension when it comes to posting recipes. I mean, who hasn’t thought of your combination before? There are millions of cooks around the world, at least one of them is bound to have a recipe similar if not identical to your own.

Maybe a recipe becomes your own because it’s you who’s making it, regardless if the recipe has been done before.

Eh?

Ephesians 5:18

says, “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. . . ” (NIV).

Ephesians chapter 5 was covered in church last night, and upon hearing that verse it got me wondering, How do you spend your weekend?  Is it spent with a bottle on Saturday night, or at evening church? Is Sunday morning spent nursing a hangover, or does it consist of worshipping the Lord?

I’m not trying to say that people who drink alcohol are terrible souls, or that people who choose to attend church are saints–I’m strictly curious.

Food for thought: How do you spend your weekend?

Baby blog is on it’s way

Using Adobe Photoshop on my computer has an equivalent comparison to me walking through a bog.  Slogging my way through the mire, moving 1000x slower than what I hoped or imagined to. . . but alas, my header is finally created and my blog’s theme is set!

Now time for summa’this:

Happy weekend!

I have numerous recipes of my own that I’d like to begin to share publicly.

I also have poems I’ve written over the past few years that may make appearances every so often.

Time to bite the bullet.

Enjoy Little Niche. 🙂
